CouchDbX - CouchDb for the Mac
Jan Lehnardt has created CouchDbX, pre-built, universal binaries for CouchDb 0.5.0 alpha on Mac OS X. At 29 meg it's a big-un, but it's everything you need to get CouchDb running with no hassle. (but it is alpha level software, so no guarantees!)

Jan also wrote up a great post detailing his adventure porting CouchDb to Unix.

So, what does it do? you download and unzip it, it creates an app. you start it, and it just sits there and looks you in the face?
there is no help and there is not description of how exactly one is to use this? Is it an intel mac only thing? I have Tiger 10.4 and I don't think it works on ppc macs with 10.4

We still need to make sure it has a readme and links to the documentation and all that jazz. And really I should have put a little context in the post (I've added a little more now), sorry about that!
In the meantime here is the documentation wiki to help explain what CouchDb is:

Live demos are coming soon.

Dear huh?
yeah it basically does not much, yet. Only starting the server deamon. To Verify that it runs, Point a Browser to http://localhost:8888/$utils/peek.html
I've tested the Package on three 10.4.8 equipped PPC Macs. I can't tell about older OS X Versions, yet. Could you drop me a mail, if you're running into problems on either platform?
Best,
Jan

Aaah! I see, thanks for pointing me to the url. It would be nice if this is in the help string under the help menu. Thanks! :)
